Introduce Yourself : Hello fellow people chasing their dreams! by David Villanueva

Hello fellow people chasing their dreams!

It's been a busy year so far! I'm an aspiring screenwriter. I've been working on the final revision of my comedy TV show pilot, which I anticipate pitching soon. And in February my new children's picture book "Sebastian's Moon" was released. It's about a little boy whose brother passed away, so he thinks his little brother went to live on the moon. I'd like to one day adapt this into an animated feature.

Wishing everyone much success this year! http://booksbydavidv.weebly.com/

Rafael Siegel

Hello David, what is the status of your pilot?

Ethan Nielson

David,

You might want to consider LAIKA (Coraline, Kubo and the Two Strings) for SEBASTIAN'S MOON. They like offbeat stories with heart that can be enjoyed by both adults and children. All the production companies have become increasingly difficult to contact by phone and a literary rep is necessary most of the time, though not always. As long as you have copyrighted your material and are willing to sign a Release Agreement you should be fine.

I'm in pre-production on a script I co-wrote called GREENER PASTURES and know the frustration of getting a film made.

God bless,

Ethan Nielson

Hey David, sounds like a groovy way to pursue dreams to me. Keep rockin' it out.

Hi Rafael, it's done, but going through editing, and I'm working on my pitch for it. I'm hoping to have everything completed and ready to go by mid-June.

David Villanueva

Hi Ethan, I used to have a literary agent for my children's books but we parted ways last year. I ended up self publishing SEBASTIAN'S MOON and it has been my biggest seller so far (I've previously been published by indie publishers, so my last 3 books I've self-published). It def was hard landing a literary agent for my books, and I know landing an agent/manager for screenplays is not easy either. Congrats on your project, it sounds exciting! And thank you for the info, I will look into it!

David Villanueva

Hi Ted, yes, def working on making some more dreams come true, so I'm determined. Best of luck on your projects!
