Hi S32! I'm still here, even though I haven't been very vocal for the past few months. It has been a very busy and eventful year and a half since I joined the fray.
A year ago I had a first reading of my screenplay 'The Manny' with the support of many S32 members. (I wrote an article here about my experience - https://www.stage32.com/blog/OFF-THE-PAGE-The-Anatomy-of-a-Table-Read ) After that, I decided to produce the film and I am now in the final stages of development of 'The Manny.' I am currently finalizing funding and hope to go into production this summer.
In the meantime I also produced an animated short from a short play of mine, 'My Conversation with doG' featuring the voice of a S32 member. I am just finishing editing the film and putting in the music, composed by another S32 member.
All this inspired me to pull out an finish a full length play I had started many years before. 'Basement' is about a group of neighbors trapped in a make-shift shelter, during a bombing raid over Brooklyn in the first days of the coming war. The play had a reading in NYC last October and after some rewrites, is now being considered by several theater companies.
And just last week I typed "Fade to black" on my newest screenplay, 'The Wick Inn' a horror/fantasy/comedy.
When I started here on S32 I was coming back from "a decade long hiatus" I had taken from writing. The friends and articles and inspiration I found here at S32 as been a great help to me moving forward. Thank you all for the encouragement and comradely. Now back to writing!
