Introduce Yourself : It is february, already! by Wayne Jarman

Wayne Jarman

It is february, already!

Hello Everyone,

I’ve been hanging around this wonderful Stage32 site since 2013, occasionally getting very involved but mostly being distracted with Projects, elsewhere. It has, however, been quite a while since I introduced myself.

I’m from the Eastern side of Australia. This means that participation in Webinars, that are organised in the USA, usually involves getting out of bed at O-God-O-Clock!... in time to drink copious amounts of coffee, pre-event.

My background is mainly Live Theatre. Though, I have been involved in the production of a feature-length film, both as an Actor and as a Cameraman. (I’ll include a link to our Dracula Musical Film. It is free to watch on YouTube. I played Dr John Seward. I also created the CC file.)

I love Acting and Writing (and just about any Creative form) and, among other things, have written and produced a Radio Play that I later morphed into a feature-length ScreenPlay. The day we spent in a Recording Studio to record the Radio Play (Professor When And His T.O.A.S.T.E.R.) was one of the most enjoyable days of my life. I realised, on that day, just how much I loved Directing but I also realised that I totally LOVED Voice Acting. So, if anybody is out there with a Voice Acting Project, I would LOVE to be involved!

I am my wife’s carer so my days of getting involved in Theatre are behind me. I do, however, spend a great deal of my time in my home office. Creative Schemes are my forte!

I encourage you all to follow your dreams. As Dylan Thomas said: Time Passes!

Wishing everyone absolute SUCCESS!

Hi, Wayne Jarman. Hope you're having a great year. Congratulations on working on Dracula Musical Film! I plan on watching it. I wrote a radio play way back. Your post reminded me of it. I might revisit the play and update it.

Wayne Jarman

Hello, Maurice. Good to hear from you. I don't think there is much of a marketplace these days, in Australia, for Radio Plays. However, when I revisited my Radio Play, I found it to be a great base to work from, to create a ScreenPlay. Perhaps worth considering when you revisit your play???

Thank you for your comment on our Musical. I hope you enjoy it. I would be very happy to hear any feedback. :)

I hope your year is off to a good start. Wishing you brilliant success!!!

Richard "RB" Botto

Always great to see you around these parts, Wayne Jarman

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Wayne Jarman. My year's going great so far. I hope you have a lot of success this year!

"I don't think there is much of a marketplace these days, in Australia, for Radio Plays." One of the great things about Stage 32 is if members can't find producers in their countries to make their projects, they can connect with producers all over the world. Or they can do what you did with your radio play: produce their own projects.

I'll let you know what I think of the Musical.

I think it's worth revisiting my play. I don't have the play anymore, but I remember enough about the story to rewrite the play.

Thanks, Maurice Vaughan . I appreciate your communication (and friendship) on Stage32 (and other, less relevant, places). All the best!

Wayne Jarman

Thank you, Richard "RB" Botto. My sincere appreciation, and respect, for the time you spend on here to interact with us. Your time commitment is just one obvious form of encouragement to us, to achieve.

You're welcome, Wayne Jarman. Thanks. All the best to you too!

Means a great deal, Wayne Jarman. Thank you.

Ange Neale

G'day, Wayne Jarman! I'm just down the road in Adelaide.

I, too, am living in a carer's role, but for my best friend. Bloody Alzheimer's, eh? Sometimes rewarding, occasionally frustrating, frequently draining, and I often miss the life I was making for myself, so I settle for writing, but that rare combination of solitary opportunities plus brainspace present not nearly as often nor as immersively as I'd ideally like. I'm guessing you can empathise, Wayne. Good on you for sticking by your wife. Not everyone has what it takes. xx

Wayne Jarman

Hello, Ange Neale. Good to hear from another Aussie. I don't see enough of them on here.

I'm sorry to hear about your friend. You have my utmost respect for putting your ambitions on hold while you provide care. It is a tough time. I hope you find the time and inspiration to pursue your writing.

(I have accepted your network request. Thank you.)

Wishing you all the best.
