Introduce Yourself : Lindsey Hall by Lindsey Hall

Hi everyone. A few years ago I wrote a book called The Net Warriors. An idea born from playing computer games and wondering what would happen if the characters could get out. A Harry Potter for the online age. To me, this is also a film desperate to be made but as I am also the director of a UK occupational healthcare company , I have no idea how to make that happen. I guess I am looking for a screenwriter first and someone who knows how the industry works so am prepared to send a copy of the book to anyone who wants to draft some ideas for a script and we'll see where it takes us. If anyone is interested, please contact me on lindsey.hall@splitdimension.co.uk. This could be huge or it could fall flat, or anywhere in between but, as they say, nothing ventured nothing gained. Thanks. Lindsey

This is a great idea! This project would be best for a writer who is a gamer. They would get the gaming end. My son (young gamer) explained to me that characters in games often come with a lot of characteristics. I think this film would appeal to many.

Agreed

An interesting concept. The opposite of what we have seen, i.e., a person enters a "video game."

… as opposed to your idea... a video game character enters our world. What would be the characters arc? Does the character gain new insight into how to "defeat or win in the video game... or perhaps shows how a "team of strict gamers" can win the grand prize of 1 mil. if they win a contest? A lot of ideas come to mind. Sci fi that has not yet been done is often a winner at the box office and may grab a producer on the fly.

I have been looking for a book to adapt to script. I would be interested in doing a first draft for you to review. I will send you an email.

Hi Edward. The story begins with a man who has invented an inter-reality chip that enables characters and humans to go both ways. By a quirk of fate, one of the chips ends up in the computer of a young boy in England - although could be anywhere. When playing a particular game, he gets into it. He is rescued by one of the main characters who tells him to find a particular person in the real world who can stop the main protagonist and a bunch of nasty sidekicks getting out. What he doesn't realise is that the main protagonist is already out. I could go on. Thanks
