Introduce Yourself : New to the site and a bit shy by Susan B. Ades

New to the site and a bit shy

I am very excited to be a part of this community. Having been a film editor for over 12 years, I am used to being holed up in a dark room by myself, so this is a completely new endeavor for me. For the last few years I have been dipping my toe into producing and have now jumped in full force with a new comedy for TV. I am now writing, producing and editing, and loving it all. I am based in NYC and would love to meet other artists in the film and TV industry who are focused on an improv based scripted comedy (Extras, Gary Shandling, Louie, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Flight of the Concords are some of my favorites). I believe there is a movement in this direction and I plan to be a part of it. I am also, but not solely, interested in comedy from a women's perspective, and feel strongly about seeing more slots on TV dedicated to representing a part of the population that seems to be ignored on most TV outlets. I would love to hear about your experiences and choices regarding development in TV comedy, or in regards to anything I've mentioned above. Best of luck to you all in seeing your projects come to fruition. -Susan
