Hey beautiful community! That 'introduce yourself' is such a good idea! Originally from Paris I moved to London in 1989 from NYC where I was working for a magazine during the day and and in a night club at nights (I was young then... Wouldn't have the strength today!). I was first introduced to acting in my teens... made a few movies then got into modelling. travelled the world and decided to give up modelling (this is when I landed in NYC). Once in London I joined Lee Strasberg, but a series of unfortunate events meant that I had to give my dreams up for a (long) while... I finally pluck up the courage to resume my dreams a few months ago... It does feel like I'm starting from scratch though but I don't really mind... I love London and the Londoners. I totally embraced the culture and consider myself a Brit... I love Marmite, baked beans and brown sauce. I believe in the kindness of strangers and have faith in my fellow humans. All true Janet! I guess I was more referring to a way of life... Have I mentioned 'Fawlty Towers'? Now that my kind of thing! Britishness at its best! Nice to meet you too Janet
You too my friend, now talking about " Fawlty Tower's"... I wrote a Scottish style Fawlty Towers... set in the highlands of Scotland.... Made the mistake of sending it to a BBC producer who loved it.... complimented me on it big time... I still have his emails. He was delighted. A YEAR LATER.... A show came out.... Monarch of the Glen.... Every one who turned on their tv that day, when the show first aired, called me.... Screaming to turn the television on..... they all recognised the storyline.... Sometimes we learn the lesson the hard way....
That is AWFUL Janet! That will make me think twice about sending my script if I ever finish it!
You learn as you go along, take the well heeded advice you will find here and do your homework before you do anything. Make sure you copy write.. This was many years ago now, today it is a different climate. Don't let what I said put you off.... things are done differently these days.
