Introduce Yourself : Screenwriter by Rob Jones

Rob Jones

Screenwriter

What's up everyone, I've been posting here for a little while but nearly properly introduced myself. I've pretty much always known I wanted to be screenwriter/filmmaker. But I've done way too much partying, BS, procrastinating, etc for like a good decade. I've finally found my writers voice over he past couple of years and am building up a steady portfolio of Shorts, pilots, Screenplays. From '15 to the end of this year I'll have around 15-20 completed Screenplays and pilots in various genres. This will be my first year entering various scripts in the big contests as well. Looking to network, make friends, connections, get/trade feedback and any advice i can.

Good luck with the contests! I think most writers procrastinate to a certain degree, but it always feels good to overcome that. I haven't had much luck winning contests. I got to be a quarter-finalist in one and a semi-finalist in another, both with different scripts. Starting this summer, I'll pitch producers and agents directly, both through Stage32 and several other resources.
