Introduce Yourself : Screenwriter/Art Director by Theresa Tindall

Theresa Tindall

Screenwriter/Art Director

Very challenged to get past the first few pages as it's all so new. Family comedy. Wish I had a writing partner or feedback but I really need to develop the characters more, is my understanding

Theresa Tindall you could always check out Viki King's "How to Write Your Movie in 21 Days"), I think it's a really excellent momentum-builder for a first script and once we get through those first couple of concepts, you might find more concepts emerge and then you have the craft to execute them, onward "ten pages a day or die trying"

Theresa Tindall, I think that's a challenge a lot of us tend to face is where and how do we find a writer to bounce ideas off. I wish I could be helpful, although I'm not much of a writer may be the screenwriting lounge might be helpful!

Maurice Vaughan

Hi, Theresa. Do you outline your scripts? Outlining might help you develop characters and write pages. Also, the Screenwriting lounge and blogs on here can help you learn about screenwriting.

I simply drop a scene scenario with my dental hygienist, my neighbor, co workers etc . .. never met anyone who was not immediately interested and excited when I tell them I'm working on this film script. It also helps to talk it out loud and see how they react, a fresh look, new ideas and then eventually you'll get the, ' I always wanted to be an extra in a film '

Theresa Tindall , if you have not tried this — this one's good too, “start with the scenes you know.
