Introduce Yourself : Tim Weckesser by Timothy Weckesser

Thanks to Stage 32 for this creative networking opportunity.

I'm a retired businessman returning to the creative roots of my youth.

I've written an historically based episodic-series called The Sand Creek Massacre - a tragic event in 1864 called "...the greatest military blunder of the age, and fatal in its consequences.” I am deeply mindful that this horrific attack is a sacred matter for the Cheyenne and Arapaho peoples, and welcome collaboration in this regard.

Research on this project began over 10 years ago, and writing 5 years ago. I have a fine editor in the industry. I seek an agent, and continue to look for ways to improve the telling of this compelling, disgraceful, history-changing story.

Thanks much.

So it's a documentary. How is the financing going?

Peter Roach

Good luck Tim. Documentaries are labors of love. I know first hand.

Timothy Weckesser

Thanks Alberta and Peter for reading my post. It's not a documentary. That has been done, not great maybe, but it's been done. This is a 5 part drama that unpacks the politics, cultural hatred and ambition that led to this horrific event. And then the event itself. of course, which is based entirely on first hand accounts. I'm not looking for financing so much as having it picked up by an HBO or Netflix or the like. TYhanks again.
