I was like Martin Tupper aka Brian Benben on the opening intro of Dream On. I lived in front of the t.v while everyone and everything around me was flying by. My love for film goes deep because they saved me from my surroundings. When things were bad, I found solitude on the screen. The 80s and 90s left a huge imprint on my outlook towards films and from there it all intensified. I started out writing poetry, then music. It all felt good but it wasn't great. It didn't feel that void. When I finished my first script, someone asked me what it was like and how did it feel. Imagine sitting in a chair and surrounded by a white canvas. There's nothing else in site. It's just you and this vast of whiteness. You look in your hand and there's a brush. There's a feeling inside of you urging you to paint a world in existence on this Canvas and you know if you don't finish this you will not be complete. So you start moving that brush and telling your story and before you know it, the white canvas has disappeared and your world that you created has came into existence. After that... I just knew.

Hey, Meko Gray! Great to meet you, and welcome to the community! I can totally relate. Growing up, I had the primetime TV guide memorized, I was so engulfed in watching television. Thank goodness my mother took it away from me so I could focus again! LOL
What are you working on now? I’m sure you’ve already discovered the Screenwriting Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/screenwriting), but definitely reach out on the Acting Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/acting) for insight into characters, dialogue, and even when you want to generate interest in a virtual table read!
Enjoy exploring the lounges, and don't forget to comment and respond to others’ posts, too! It's the best way to really connect!

Beautiful. I can't imagine putting it into words myself - maybe through painting? Or interpretive dance?
