Screenwriting : Comedy Contest by David Niall Wilson

Comedy Contest

So, I don't see much discussion about this here, unless I'm missing it. I just got notification today that my screenplay "Redneck Dragon" made it to the semi-finals of the Comedy Contest, which I find pretty cool. I love the story, and I'm hoping this is the start of at least getting it some notice... as a publisher and author, I don't have a lot of time to devote to screenwriting or promotion, but this opportunity is making me smile.

Congrats!

Chad Stroman

Congrats!

Richard "RB" Botto

Congrats, David. Rock on.

Thanks. I was wondering who else around here might be a semi-finalist?

Phillip E. Hardy, Prolifique

Good news!

Great David! What's your script about? In addition to redneck dragons!

David Niall Wilson

Weird, I answered this earlier... it's like Kung Fu meets the Blue Collar Comedy tour. There is a story behind it... I think an actually poignant one that will touch people... but it's straight up camp... spontaneous combustion, a guy named Thumbeye Jake (whose name you do not want to question the origin of) another named squirrel.... I think it's a lot of fun... but mostly I know it's a movie I'd love to watch.

Might have been in a different post. It does sound like a lot of fun! Hope it moves on!

Me too... It's kind of satisfying to see that others have read it and found it to have merit. As an author, and screenwriter, I know that actual validation, even if it comes to nothing more than that, is very valuable.

Thanks everybody. I guess I'm just a little surprised that the people who are involved in trying to win this aren't chatting it up more... the boards are relatively silent here.
