On Writing : Publishing by Robyn Lucas

I have written various children stories and I'm seeking for them to be published via the UK either in a magazine, a book or even ebook. Can anyone offer me any help. How I start off?

Fiona Faith Ross

I believe The People's Friend has a "Children's Corner" (something like that, which takes short stories). You'll need to check out their submission guidelines. http://www.thepeoplesfriend.co.uk/footer/guidelines/ There are web sites too, which will take them. I'm published on one called alfiedog.com Again, check it out and see if it's what you had in mind. If you want to publish an eBook you can do it yourself on Amazon (Kindle) and Smashwords. Apart from that it's the usual trudge of submitting to literary agents or entering them for competitions.

Thankyou Fiona. I appreciate it.

Hey Robyn, definitely check out https://duotrope.com/ (I just answered a similar question a couple of pages back so lest anyone be wondering, I am in NO WAY affilliated with Duotrope, but they're a fine bunch of folks). Anyway, I used them when I was sending out my stories a couple of years back. You can send your emails from Duotrope directly and track responses (as well as use email templates which speeds things up). Very nice online software. AND, they track UK magazines as well. Best of luck!

Haha same as Carl - I'm not with Writing mag, but I do recommend them as a great resource. Loads of advice on how to present your cover letter, synopsis and ms plus lists of publishers/mags currently looking for work. Good luck! x
