Stage Adaptation of Classic 1956 Tennessee Williams Movie BABY DOLL

Couldn't believe the T. Williams Estate sanctioned a stage adaptation of the 1956 movie BABY DOLL / Dir: Elia Kazan. Was prepared to hate it, the nerve of someone other than TW himself, attempting to reduce that epic Delta Mississippi love/hate dramatic dark comedy into staged performance within four walls of what turned out to be the smallest of three theatres @ https://pacificresidenttheatre.com/baby-doll/ ) in Venice. But within seconds of the opening

within the intimacy of this theatre and with the power of the actors the underlying flaws of the Stage Play Adaptation were quickly forgotten. If you know both the Author T. Williams and the Film BABY DOLL you won't realize until well after the play has ended that somehow all the grandeur of the cinematic version was never missed. An interesting study in film and stage writing (adaptation).

If you live in L.A., you can witness it live...
