Pitch Decks

Does anyone have decent knowledge of pitch decks, like ideal formatting and what content should be included therein? Would love to ask you some questions if you have a spare moment. Thanks everyone!

Luis A. Colon

Hey Robert,

In my pitch deck, I included the following:

1. cover page (which includes title and contact info),

2. pitch page (project runtime, genre, and logline of the project),

3. Objective page,

4. Summary of the project page,

5. Synopsis page,

6. Target audience page,

7. Talent page (with attached talent and credits),

8. Team page,

9. Crew page,

10. Film comparables,

11. Financial summary,

12. Use of funds page,

13. Budget page ( I think top sheet is fine),

14. Contact page.

Hope this helps.

If it's for funding, this is a great resource: https://www.stage32.com/webinars/Putting-Together-the-Perfect-Pitch-Deck... If it's more of a creative look book for funding, this has a great professional example: https://www.stage32.com/webinars/How-to-Finance-Your-Short-Film

I was about to answer this but Luis A Colon did it just fine. You did not specify which project tho. Documentaries would add a Research page, locations and licenses already signed to shoot/interview. An animation would lot more of visual references and the bio of the artist. And a TV-Bible must have Season synopsis (a resume of what happens in each episode). Potential cast. And because the funds would come from the tv channel, you add potential partners, location w/ credit benefits (tax incentives).

On the target audience page I used to add a market study (use google analytics that shows you the graphics of e.g how many people is searching for topic of your project currently, then make a questionnaire on google survey so you can have automatic graphics of the answers) add potential venues | where it would sell more or stream or tv channel, etc.

Plus, Director's Notes (or main character bio if is a real story, whatever your strength is). In Europe we call it "Production Value" which tells investors "Why is it important / or why it matters, Why now, and why you?/why this director, etc"

I put the story (Storyline, synopsys, Tone&Mood) in first and only after that I add a page which says "Where we are" that explains how advanced you are, if you already have a script, producer, etc in a very clean and clear checklist. And finally, the Talent/crew and money always in the end.
