I'm developing a sort of transgender coming-of age film with my transgender son - was my daughter. Obviously a harder sell than other concepts. I'm wondering what producers their are with positive attitudes towards trans-themed films. They seem to be thin on the ground but they must be out there.

Hey Bob, there are actually quite a few prodco's and managers looking for that kind of material. We have a few writers who get requested BECAUSE their material is trans-focused. TRANSPARENT is a monster success, and tons of producers are looking to emulate it.

Ta, Erik, that's promising. I tend to be out of the loop because I live in Cambodia (Where most of the film is set), hence me joining communities like this to find out. I've added it to the loglines section in my profile, one never knows who's ears might prick up.
Yes, after many years in, and association with, the industry, I agree. The story does have a strong hook and it is somewhat farther along than my initial post might suggest (A synopsis is under the logline section of my profile). This is, however, a new niche/genre for me and time spent in reconnaissance is never wasted.
Maybe this was a hard sell three to five years ago. Not today. It's exactly what many producers, prodCo's and studios are looking for.
I tend to agree with Vitaly, it remains a difficult sell.
