Appreciating all facets of Cannabis history, ecology, and the potential for global symbiosis, is mankind's most urgent priority. In 1991, when I learned of the industrial uses of Cannabis hemp, I started Project P.E.A.C.E. (Planet Ecology Advancing Conscious Economics). The first act of P.EA.C.E. was to send a six-page, formal individual challenge of rightful jurisdiction to Hawai'i's State Attorney General, and announced my intention to plant Cannabis publicly on Maui. Long-time hemp entrepreneur and marijuana activist, Roger Christie and lovely filmmaker & Holy Hemp Sister, LB Johnson, flew over from the Big Island for the planting. About fifty people, planted hemp seeds underneath the ancient banyan tree in Lahaina, January 1st, 1992. That was the beginning of a twenty-three-year-long exercise of due diligence. There has been much accomplished in many parts of the world to reclaim legitimacy on behalf of the world's oldest global culture. In 1998, while living in Holland, I helped to start Green Prisoner's Release and wrote the manifesto for what was to become the world's first Cannabis College, in Amsterdam. In 2007, the year my son was born, I formalized the California Cannabis Ministry. An individual, secular demonstration of spiritual responsibility for the true value of Cannabis. Drugs don't make seeds, herbs do. Our freedom to farm "every herb bearing seed" is the first test of religious freedom. Reclaiming our natural legacy of rightful spiritual relationship with Cannabis will achieve the requisite polar shift in human values that 's needed for our species to survive the 21st Century.
