Ron Howard is a movie genius. Trying to distill his wisdom into a checklist?
It s much easier to work the room after Happy Days.
Dan there is no sense in being honest. Some people think the correct way of spelling DOG is CAT
@Dan: Ain't that the Gospel Truth. And he was Opie too.
...Did you guys even read the article? Some great tips for anyone at any level to benefit from: "Instead of trying to force or “push” his ideas into the minds of other people, Ron Howard uses “pull.” He gets decision-makers excited, asks good questions to draw out their creativity, and incorporates their feedback."
@beth Ron Howard is an 'actor". he's been trained since Opie to work the room. RH is very talented, of course he s gonna get help from the best around. push or pull.. whatever. when RH walk into the room, people automatically get excited.
Dan, why so cynical? Lol! Perhaps just read the article for the great insights. You don't have to be Ron Howard to command a room. ;)
lol Beth... full disclosure: ron howard stole my reservation table at Ago restaurant. :)
Haha! ..Well, that explains a lot, Dan. :)
I like the Ron Howard strategy. That's a great way to create an active conversation. He certainly knows his stuff, given his long career as actor, producer, director. Arrested Development, a show he created, is one of my all-time favorites. Nice post, Vince.
Couldn't agree more, Bill. I thought the article was full of fantastic advice. Thanks for posting, Vince. :)
Just be yourself, everybody. Ron Howard is successful for a lot of reasons, but mostly because he's Ron Howard. And has stayed Ron Howard. Stay your authentic selves, you should. Signing off, Yoda.
Okay, for cryin' out loud... Carl, did you even read the article? It's NOT about "being Ron Howard." It presents tips that anyone could use. Anyone. LOL! ;)
@Beth, I guess didn't make myself clear. What I mean is, RH's system works so well because he is BEING RON HOWARD. Yes, take his tips for what they are (and they're good), but BE YOURSELF. Only way to be successful, IMO.
That's great, Carl. :) But, if you look through the entire thread, it seems just the fact that "Ron Howard" is the person lending great advice is a distraction for many; not really focusing on the tips themselves. ...So, there ya go. Moving on. :) LOL!
@beth how would u react if you're waiting for a restaurant table for an hour and Ron Howard walks in, being Ron Howard, and skips you and everyone else because, well, he's Ron Howard? In all seriousness, R Howard has a built in 'fan base' before he enters any room. people are already biased in his favor. All the pitch suggestions by RH is great info but to JOE PUBLIC, he has to work 3x as hard to sell a pitch.
You guys are going to make me sew my fingers to my chest and it's only Monday morning.
Dan, in all seriousness, not the point of the article! LOL! Those tips would work for anyone. Perhaps sidestep your bias against Howard.
Better yet, how do you pitch like Ron Jeremy?
