Austin Film Festival

I'm stunned by my experiences at the Austin Film Festival the last week. Lots to catch up on, including a rainy, but fun Stage 32 event at the Handlebar. Let me know if you were there! If so, what experience most affected you at AFF?

Andy Silverman

I was at the Handlebar and every other bar for that matter. What I got most out of the weekend were the Michael Arndt panels and watching Norman Lear riff with Phil Rosenthal. Hilarious. Sorry we didn't get a chance to connect.

James Land

That was such a weird night for me. I worked all night, so I ran back and forth between red carpets and the Handlebar all night. By the time I had a conversation, I was talking with some nice people from the transportation convention!

Danny Manus

was a great time! my article on my 12 Lessons Learned at Austin will be out tomorrow, I'll be sure to repost on S32.

Laurie Ashbourne

I learned that Austin's airport is not equipped to handle rain. Even after the skies cleared and the tornadoes were gone, their control tower was flooded and had no backup. A harrowing eternal drive to Dallas taught me just how long I can hold my bladder (which apparently isn't too hard to do when your mouth is as dry as talcum), I managed to make it home at 4 am from a 10 am previous day flight. See you next year...

James Land

@Danny Manus, I can't wait to read it. I'll be posting my red carpet experiences as well. Man, what a fun week!

James Land

@Laurie Ashbourne, I'm sorry you had such a rotten experience getting home. This year, the rain has interrupted Spring and Fall in Texas with a fury. I hope the rest of your time was exciting.

Laurie Ashbourne

Thanks, James -- no worries, all in a day's travel. I love Austin and AFF have been going for years.

Danny Manus

oh man Laurie I had no idea! that Sucks!
