Best Movie Moms of All Time

First off, Happy Mother's Day to all you wonderful mothers out there. I know that at least a few of you are posters here, and may the heavens continue to bless you and your families. Mom's rock. A few of my favorite movie moms. 1. Beth, Once Were Warriors. Rena Owen just kills me. Not the biggest movie, but she wrenches my gut with almost every line in this great film from New Zealand. 2. Rebecca, Sounder. Cicily Tyson keeps things together, and is one of America's great actresses. And this film was one of the first of the 1970's - maybe the first - that broke away from the "Black Exploitation" films of that era, too. 3. Mother, Mother. Kim Hye-Ja is awesome in this Korean drama. Mystery-thriller-crime story writers - please see this film is you already haven't. 4. Mamma Roma, Mamma Roma. A somewhat-controversial Italian film, Anna Magnani's portrayal of Mamma hits all emotions. 5. Ma Joad, The Grapes of Wrath. Jane Darwell was in over 100 films. Mama Mia - what an actress! And what dignity she embodied in this great film.. I think the characters of all five of my choices embody dignity, actually. And toughness, and resilience, and hope. What a great group of moms. I know there are many, many more - from comedies to dramas to horror films to thrillers to musicals. Who are a few of your favorite film moms? Thanks in advance, and Happy Mother's Day to all! Bouno Festa Della Mamma!

Great choices, everyone. I must add some animal moms. 1. Perdita, One Hundred and One Dalmations. Anyone who adopts 84 babies goes to the top of the list. 2. Mena, Bambi II. Gotta give props to Bambi's adoptive mother, too. 3. Sarabi, The Lion King. No Sarabi, no Simba. No Simba....well, you know. 4. Mrs. Jumbo, Dumbo - single moms rock! 5. Bart, The Bear - well, technically he's a male, but he was like a mom, too, in The Bear. Happy Mother's Day!
