Flash-forwards (arriaga)

Hey, I'm working on a fractured tandem script and I want to add a few flash-forwards. Where, Who, can I get some technical advice. I read about placement. . .when to leave your current narrative and inject the flash-forward. However I'm looking for info which would include story development as well. Need all the help!!

To my way of thinking (I’m not the Guru) – I think the story ought to be written in present tense with flashbacks (used sparingly) to bring meaningful information into the present story line. To my way of thinking – the present tense story is in the future with flashbacks. Departing from the present story into the future will tend to pull your audience away from the story line. Watch The Bridges of Madison Country to see how flashbacks can be made to work well.
