When I watch a full season of a show I rewrite it in my own words, I even try to write what season 2 is going to be. Waste of time no but fun practice.
I-netha: Having fun is a great reason to be creative. In recent years, I wrote a homage to Fargo pilot scripted called Sioux Falls, which turned out so well, that I use it as a sample and occasionally pitch it. Though I don't own the film rights, I also did an adaptation of Harper Lee's Go Set A Watchman that I also use as a work sample.

I say it's great practice.

There is no such thing as bad practice unless it reinforces bad habits.

That's a fantastic exercise! Have you tried writing a spec script for the series as well? Put all that good research to work for you!

Great exercise I-netha. I agree with Karen, you should definitely take what you're doing and make it work for you. Write those spec scripts!

I've been doing that with things I read and watch since I was 11. Right there with you.
