My 25 feature screenplays of every genre along with my self-produced 8 SAG-Short films have now earned me 90 Wins and 168 Nominations on IMDb...all in the past seven years. Looks like I have to move to L.A. because no one there takes me serious while I live in Washington, D.C. "Keep movin', movin', movin', though they're disapprovin'!" I got blisters on me fingers!
No one takes anyone in Washington, D.C. seriously. Can't speak to LA anymore but I can tell you that the West Coast is the Best Coast. Just bring your own water.
haha!! This is AWESOME Lawrence!! Congrats!! And if you have the means to go - GO!! I was there for 2 years and I will be going back!! Keep on keepin' on!!

If you are just trying to sell your screenplays it doesn't matter where you live.

Almost everyone sells their first script living outside Los Angeles. So where you live isn't going to be the problem.
And if you enter a top contest like Nicholl or Austin and are a finalist, production companies will find you.

Move in 2022. Couple of writer-folks I know on Twitterverse moved to LA this year and they all had tv staff job offers before the move. They used writing samples and aced zoom interview meetings with Employers. Rookie tv salaries. California income tax and rep fees add up to 40-50% deducted from paychecks. Good Luck!
That's great! Keep at it and we'll soon see your name on the silverscreen!
Best of luck on your move! Very exciting.
