I am looking for a co-writer for a script I am developing. It's in thriller/erotica/romance genre.
Any suggestions where / how to connect with the right person?

Having a co-writer is a lot more work than it seems. Have you tried writing it yourself?
Just continue to network until you find someone you mesh well with. I've collaborated on several projects with good results just requires someone who brings balance like a marriage. Be open to you'd be surprised at who you could end up networking with. Sounds like an interesting genre mash-up.
treat this as a business. Get your paperwork in order. maybe draft a NDA legal contract for a co-writer/employee to sign. I would make it clear from the get-go what you are offering - cash, 50% of purchase price, copyright ownership, what exactly; so there is no misunderstanding later if you choose to fire/replace co-writer/employee. or go your separate ways.
... adding to what Dan MaxXx mentioned, remember this: equal partnerships aren't ...
Gary Floyd I have tried but I guess I need an accountability partner. I am also not that sure if I'm doing the right thing so running what I've written by someone would be beneficial for sure.
Ryan Mogensen I agree, I think that's exactly what i need. Someone to bring balance. My biggest hurdle is... where to network? I genuinely don't know anyone in the film /writing industry. Since you say it's interesting mash up.... do you want to chat more about it? :)
Dan MaxXx that really is a good idea. I will do what you say. Thank you! being prepared is half the job.
Lindbergh E Hollingsworth ....aren't ....what? #Needtoknow please :)
Hi Alex...I believe what Lindbergh is saying to you is to remember that equal partnerships are not always equal....and as far as your question goes Dans advice is absolutely spot-on. As creatives we tend to romanticize this industry and forget that there is an entire business side to everything we do....so Ryan is correct, you need to find not just a co-writer but rather the RIGHT co-writer, which mean you may have to swipe left a few times before you find the one. You have already taken the first correct step in finding the right co-writer by being on Stage 32.
Thank you John Gilbert ! I agree, I was thinking for a while before posting, but being here among other writers makes me feel included.
So are you paying $ for a "freelance contractor"? What are you offering? Or maybe hire a "consultant wizard" and keep 100% of your idea.
Dan MaxXx Um.... I never said i need a freelance contractor. Just someone to write with. :)
"Equal partnerships aren''t" ... one person will do more heavy lifting then the other. Or one person creates the outline and the other is good at writing it o the page. One person may work everyday on it, and the other a few times a week.
Alex. Just a suggestion. Why don't you post a logline and maybe a brief description of what the script is going to be about.
Alex - you're in the UK, my advice is to look locally.
Of course Alex let’s chat send me a message
The concept of synergy (I hate that word, too many consults) is important. One horse and pull one ton, two horses in a team can pull three. That is your aim.
I don’t write with a partner, I am not that kind of person. I would get a partner if writing with them made as better than the sum of our parts.
If you need specific functions like accountability, find a solution for that rather than developing a partnership.
Dan Guardino Yes, that I will! I need to write it up first, but i guess that's the way forward.
I really appreciate all of your comments and suggestions. There is so much support, I feel I am already part of a community and not an outsider, and I only just became active on this site a few days ago. Thank you! I'll be posting my logline and hopefully someone would be interested to write with me.
Hey Alex Isevski tried sending you a message like you asked but it wouldn’t go through. Check your settings
Hi Alex, I've been looking for a writing partner as well. In the same genre. Feel free to DM me if you'd like to chat about it. I have two scripts, one of which is a finalist in the Roadmap Top Tier 2020/21 Competition. It's a thriller with erotic overtones.
Can help you write it contact me.
