Hi. I am looking for scripts of TV series like The Jewel in the Crown, Far Pavilions and other such historical-fiction TV series (old and new). Thanks in advance.
Look for a lot of BBC scripts. they do amazing historical films and tv shows. I loved Ripper Street. Shame that didn't go for longer than three seasons. The writing was amazing. The dialogue very well researched and beautiful.
Thanks Cherie, Amelia. I tried BBC Writers Room. They seem to have only the new series. Will check out Ripper Street. Book adaptation scripts would also work for me... can you suggest some more shows please.
Couldn't agree with you more about "Ripper Street," Cherie! Incredible writing. Fantastic, rich characters. :) Adite, are you looking for primarily British shows? "Mr. Selfridge" looks fantastic. Perhaps take a look at "Copper" as well. It focuses on immigrants/early Americans in 1865 New York. Here, it's on BBC America. :) Have you looked at "Penny Dreadful?" I easily found the pilot script online. It's a new take on classic horror figures but is set in Victorian England. For American Historical TV series, perhaps take a look at "Hell on Wheels." It's gritty storytelling. The mesh up of early immigrants and their struggles in American is quite compelling. :) Another fantastic historical series is "Boardwalk Empire."
I miss Ripper Street, and Copper. Hell on Wheels got better as the show progressed. The acting was inconsistent (Common). Yes, The Game was so good...BBC Writers Room is pretty much where you'll find historical tv drama scripts. Simply Scripts is another place.
Hi Aditi. Am a screenwriter from Mumbai and am writing feature for certain National Award winning Film-Makers. But I do intend to work for TV too. Let me know if I can be of any help.

Google is your friend.
Adite, as Leona said, try an online search. Or, perhaps try SimplyScripts at http://www.simplyscripts.com :)

The BBC Writers Room has scripts from their shows which should include Ripper Street etc.

Hi Cherie. Thanks so much. I don't know about these shows. Unlikely that any of these shows will be available in India, though! :/
Thanks Owen for your suggestion.
do you not have access to BBC shows? I would have thought they would have been available in India for sure.
Cherie, we only get a few of the most popular shows. For instance Sherlock Holmes.
Any idea where I could get a script of the 2009 BBC adaptation of Emma. I have checked BBC Writers Room already and no luck!
