My S32 Next Level Class: How to Hook Your Reader

Hey everyone, If you're going to have some downtime over the holidays and want to take a S32 class, I'd like to share my class page with you. The live class has concluded, but the on-demand class is available. If an on-demand class member has questions and is in need of clarification, you can PM me, and I will do my best to fill in that blank for you. Thank you.

CJ Walley

Heard some excellent reports from people have taken this class from Regina. Certainly worth considering for any screenwriter.

David Levy

The class drives the point home on how important the start of your script needs to be.

Regina Lee

Thanks so much, CJ and David. The intent of the class is to not only bring the importance of a strong opening into clear focus, but to also help you analyze any opening and break it down into its component parts. Perhaps most importantly, we discuss how an opening set-up sets the tone of the entire piece and allows the audience to invest in and participate in the entire narrative. "This is what I'm pulling for the protagonist to accomplish as he/she experiences his/her journey." The class also teaches how your readers are evaluating your script as they read the opening - the other side so to speak.

Regina Lee

There's a ripple effect from opening onward for both reader and writer.

Shari D. Frost

I just re-wrote my first five pages based on this class and Regina's incredibly insightful feedback, and wow! What a difference it made. This class is a "must take" Stage 32'ers!

Regina Lee

Thank you, Shari! I hope people who take the class will see that class concepts impact not only the first 5 pages, but also the script overall. A clearer opening and a clearer understanding of how the opening set-up functions will have an impact across the entire script for both reader and writer.
