Need some help with a scene!

Need some help. In a screenplay I'm working on a Hollywood stuntman is in prison and I need to show him make his escape. Obviously, I would like to have him use his skills as a stuntman. This is a production script so please don't offer anything that you've seen in other movies. Any help you can offer would be most appreciated.

David Levy

What does the cell look like? What does he have in his cell? I'd love to help but need to knowwhat he is surrounded by. Is there a window with bars, no bars, etc.

Stephen Barber

Fire, light him on fire... Immediate extract to hospital ward... Overpower armed guard and transfer ownership of firearm.

David Levy

Could do that. How bad will he be burned though?

Dan Guardino

@ David. It could like any state maximum prison cell which are pretty generic.

David Levy

If no bars on the hospiatl windows, the stuntman could overpower the guard out the window. toss out a mattress or two, jump onto the mattresses. Then transfer ownership of the firearm. This way he's outside already and doesn't have to fight his way out of the prison.

David Levy

Perhaps he is working on the loading dock for the prison laundry. Two trucks going out. He rigs one with no brakes so it crashes into the gate. He stows away in the second one as the guards and staff are more focusedon the crash than checking the second laundry truck leaving which he is driving. He knocked out the usual driver and is in the back of the truck.

Stephen Barber

If he's a stuntman, he'd prob. know how to avoid/prolong the intensity of the damage... If he's able to obtain a firearm from the armed guard - he'd be able to obtain his/her car keys too.

David Levy

As an alternative to fire fire, he could complain about appendicitis. If he took the guard's keys how would he know which was the guard's car? Would he keep pressing the "LOCK" button on the keyfob to hear which is the guard's car in the lot? The guard would need some kind of identifiable tag on his keys like the "P*ssy Wagon" in Kill Bill.

No disrespect but an escape from a hospital or pretending to be ill has been done at least a million times. Know your character and his extraordinary abilities. Stunt men are brilliant gymnasts. He performs amazing balance walking on tiny rails, jumping and going higher, then doing proper gymnastics stuff to reach higher into the roof, using skill to smash through a window. Rolling and diving away from bullets till he finally does a high dive onto a couple of fruit boxes - that's how hard he is!

Good advise everyone and thanks! I really appreciate your input.

David Levy

Welcome Dan! Hope some of the above helped your creative process!
