Sean Fontaine

Question about copyright ownership for employees/contractor's works.

Does anyone know who owns the copyright if you hire someone to create a story treatment for you... the writer, or you?

D Marcus

Troels Christian Jakobsen

Under European copyright laws the artist can't sign over the copyright under any circumstances, only the rights to use the material. Under American copyright law it's possible for producers to attain copyright.
