hi everyone, My name is Virginia Brucker. I've written a screenplay that is filled with rich roles for mature female actors. It's was one of 10 finalists in the Beverly Hills Screenplay contest, one of the top 5% in BlueCat, and one of 22 semi-finalists in the period/historical division of the Final Draft Big Break. I truly believe it would resonate with female producers. It's had very positive coverage from a variety of people, including a former director who made a movie with prominent names. Alas, he makes commercials for McDonald's now. As a Canadian writer, there are significant tax and funding breaks available to a production company. My question to the group is, "What's the next logical step?" I live in a small town on Vancouver Island. Since agents often need writers to have an introduction, getting the script in front of a good agent is a challenge. Is it appropriate to send queries to production companies owned by women? I would very much appreciate your feedback.
