Screenplay Format.

Has anyone ever sold a screenplay using Microsoft Office or Ms Word? Grid Mark Productions.

D Marcus

Producers do not buy a screenplay based on the word processing software used. If a script written using Microsoft Office or Ms Word is excellent and exactly what a producer is looking for a producer will buy it. I am a producer. I would buy an excellent script written using Microsoft Office or Ms Word.

If you want a good, FREE scriptwriting software, try Celtx - that's what I use. https://www.celtx.com/products.html

Just FYI...The Writer's Store is also offering a killer deal on Final Draft exclusively to Stage 32 members https://www.stage32.com/offers/15

Dee Nied

I've used Celtx to write my screenplay, any word on that?

Brett Hunt

Adobe Story. It's free and a nice, simple program

Stacey Chehardy

Alli, I use Celtx and really like it

Joel Paul Sciberras

Hi for screenplay try to download CELTX or Movie Magic Screenwriter

Bryan Howell

I think Scrivner also lets you write in screenplay format. It's a very cool program, and very cheap ($30, I think). Seems like it would be hard to nail the right format in MS Word. Allen, are you using some sort of Word template, or just formatting manually?

Stanislav Roud

Just like Joel said, use Celtx, it's free, easy to use and you don't have to worry about formatting, because it does it for you.

I-Esha Henderson

I have to agree with everyone else. I used the free software Celtx and make it to the semifinals in a contest. It's definitely legit.
