Short script funding available

Just had an email regarding Screencraft offering production funds to selected short films... seems to be set up in a similar way to standard competition, but prize is funds for production... Anyway link is https://screencraft.org/fund/ for those interested. Anthony

Thanks, that's interesting. Will check it out as we're trying to get funding for our short film about bullying, The Shoes, and it's proving difficult!

Darn, it has an entry fee.

Yep, seems to be structured a little like a competition... but think they also have something re matching crowdfunding so may be worth a punt. Good luck with The Shoes!

Fine Print: "ScreenCraft and BondIt will request a total 30% ownership stake in each funded project per terms to be agreed upon at time of the award of the production funds. Writer credit and director and producer credit will remain with the original filmmaking team. All ownership and rights to the material submitted to this grant program remains with the original rights holders until and unless other agreements are made. Should your project be awarded funding, you are not obligated to accept it until and unless other agreements are made." ---- This is totally understandable for many projects, as most short films are not typically profitable. But I wonder what ownership comes into play if the short is a proof-of-concept for a feature-length film. I might ask them about this and report back, if the answer would be interesting to the group.
