The unexpected things that come during the writing process.

I'm writing a new screenplay and like I normally do, I've been working off a outline. While crafting a script, there's a point where I really hit the groove. It took me a while with this new one but I found my groove yesterday. The outline is an essential part of my writing road map, but what I really love is the unexpected ideas that pop up during the process. It's like finding those unexpected, out-of-the-way places while on vacation. That's when I have the most fun.

I woke in the middle of the night a few nights ago - A character in a script I had written two years ago - delivered a line in a dream that blew me away.

I got up - put it in the script - and updated the file. It's a really subtle, but powerful line that changes the dynamics of the scene and the character.

Sometimes, your subconscious just needs to ruminate.

I love when I get in that groove, it's like being in the moment that Dr. Frankenstein realized his experiment turned into reality feeling.
