I'm able to record 4 single mono files separately. But when I attempt to play them back individually I can't. The unit only plays all 4 takes at once. When I import into the computer, I'm able to hear them separately then. My desire is to be able to monitor each file in the unit itself. Thank you

Hi Tony - you will need to solo the track on playback in the device. The way that device works, it will always play all 4 files at once. Either mute the other 3 or just "solo" the one track.

Good question! I own two different Tascam products that do the exact same feature, but after consulting the manual for the 70dr, there doesn't seem to be that functionality on playback, only individual file playback. That kind of sucks, TBH. I'd send Tascam and email and ask about it. Perhaps in a software/hardware update that can add that in?? I know there have been several features that have been added in after the fact.
