.. Just throwing it out to the group here - should we set this up as an event on STAGE 32 and then with the venue @ PERCH? (this may already be on STAGE 32) - or do we add this to http://www.meetup.com/ (or all of the above) .. just a few thoughts to help coordinate.

I would love to, but I'm out of town until the 26th. I hope there are more meetups in store for the future!

The 17th meetup is at LA Perch. Cantors has been suggested for future meetups, but I think I'm the only one who responded to that suggestion. :-)

Yes, it's at LA Perch. I think it makes sense to meet up and then if those who attend the meet up wish to change the location it's discussed at that time.

I agree with David. My experience is not many show to new meetings until they see a consistency. Cleats see who does show and then maybe we can have "biz" talk in regards to location. Thoughts? I may try to make it just as a break from phone work that I have all week...lol

I'm all for meeting, except I can't make the one in July (out of town).

I'm interested but leaving town for a few days on the 17th. Keep me on the list of interested folks.

How do we know how many people are going on the 17th???

Erik, we will never know the exact amount until we get a count at the door. To see an estimate just scroll through the comments I guess.

1,000's .... just kidding ... I can't imagine how we'd ever be able to tell since we do not have a "meetup" or something similar set up (yet) .... as in www.meetup.com

These types of meet ups have been organised in the past with other Stage 32 members in other cities and they were very successful. I don't know if this will become a monthly thing (some people seem to believe so) but let's try to make this one fun and casual. The more the merrier! See you all on the 17th. I've invited others to come from Stage 32 that I have connected with on other threads. They haven't responded to this thread but they sent me emails saying they will show up on the 17th.

dang it! week nights M-Thurs are not good for me! I could do weekends and friday nights....:)

Stephen this group already tried to meet on a weekend and there was only two of us interested. You could always form your own group or join other groups in LA that meet weekends. This group finally got a response when Melissa Papel moved it to a Thursday evening.

I was about to head to Detroit to help out at the Net Roots Nation Conference tomorrow where Vice President Joe Biden is giving his key note speech. I wanted to rap up "Kingmaker Blues" there. Everyone must have gotten wind of the information because the prices have gone sky high to Detroit and the reasonable transportation is all sold out. Looks like I'll be stuck in LA. What an awesome way to enjoy being stuck in LA. Just the motivation I needed to focus on my screenwriting. I'll be delighted to meet up with you all tomorrow at Perch at 7P. I'll have to call and tell Noi and Bo I won't be making our meetup in Detroit. Sometimes things get all worked out on the Universes schedule.

Anyone know whether The Perch has valet parking?

I just called...there is valet parking after 7 pm at Perch for $9 or there is parking for $5 or $6 on lots on the corner or across the street.

Thanks for the info. I guess folk in this area don't have parking lots without $ signs. LOL.

Not downtown... which is why I'm all for places like Cantors or even somewhere in the valley. :-)

In order to find each other, please make sure you come to the very top floor (the roof top), not the restaurant floor. I feel a little silly bringing my laptop and binder prepared to work. What can I say. I'm from Vegas. Our group there is small but mighty. We work at our trade during our meetups. I like you all's style. I got a lot of work done simply chatting with other creatives. Networking. What a concept:).

Peter....No worries Los Angeles has many filmmakers. I think I'm going to throw a meet up soon as I have ten or more new ones and why wait a month. It's a long time to wait when there's people interested in meeting. The group who attended the last meet up is moving it to Burbank next month. No offense to Burbank but the Perch was a great location....and worthy of more meet ups. We had a great turn out for a Thursday night. I was going to try a Friday evening. Possibly this coming week.

There's another meet up scheduled for the Perch for Thursday July, 24,, 2014 @ 7 pm. I emailed people and so far about five new people are coming.

We had our 3rd Stage 32 meet up last night. This time we joined another meet up group that labels themselves FILM/GAMING/MUSIC COMPOSERS. About 30 people showed up, eight of those were from STAGE32. They meet the 2nd Tuesday of the month at Busby's East from 5-8 pm. I'm going to join them monthly. Busby's is a great location, casual atmosphere, $1 tacos, $5 drinks and everyone in the private room is there to network.

Sounds amazing! I keep having to miss them, darnit!

Marni, Now that we joined with this other group it will always be the 2nd Tuesday of the month at Busby's. I'm sure other LA meetups will pop up as well.

I definitely hope there will be other meetups; Tuesday is the one day every week I'm not free to go! :)
