I've just finished another proofreading / copy-editing job, this one for a script written in English by a French screenwriter. Although the script's written English is of a very high standard, there are always those little things that non-native speakers trip up on, such as the difference between 'this' and 'that', subject-verb agreement, and of course idiomatic dialogue. Hence the value of a proof by a native speaker. It goes without saying that the connection came via Stage 32, and I'd like to note that it's a pleasure working with these talented European screenwriters on their projects.
