Thank you all so much! This story is actually very close to me because my family (wife and 5 young boys) and I were in Wichita the night it happened. We were also from the KC area and had attempted to make our way back home, but were denied access to I-35 by the KS Turnpike Authority and returned to Wichita. If we had left an hour earlier, we could have been caught in the same flash flood. We've followed Robert and his ministry for some years, and when I read the book, I saw its potential as a film and even dreamed of being the one to give it that life... I contacted Robert this spring and he was open to the possibilities, so... here we are!
There's a strong connection, Pete... In fact, while waiting at the hospital for his family to be found, Robert (a musician himself) requested the sheet music for "It is Well," and the piece played a significant role in his healing process.
