About a month ago, I received an inquiry from my film financier in Hollywood about the film’s approximate budget. His partner has an agency in Beverly Hills that manages funding. Their sponsors are international. The agency had a meeting with a film promotion team from Dubai who expressed interest in my client’s story, which is set on the Arabian Peninsula.
The agency asked me for a so-called “one-sheet.” It contains the logline, the movie rating, genre, budget, potential cast, including two A-list actors, synopsis, concept summary and most importantly: The unique selling point.
My biography and bibliography were also a requirement. I also had to describe how and where I met Carina S. Burns, the book author, who happened to be on Stage 32, https://www.stage32.com.
My biggest challenge was meeting the deadline for writing and delivering everything in only 48 hours. Luckily, with the help of Carina as my editor and proofreader, I successfully completed it. In order to ensure the agency's funding, it is necessary to do a rewrite and include an additional so-called “package” for the final commitment.
