About Matteo

I'm a film director, with skills in drawing and stop motion animation.
After having graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence in 1997, I channeled my passion for visual arts and painting into the directing career.
I’ve worked for numerous commercials and corporate for international brands such as Danone, Peroni, Agip, Eni, General Electric, Mattel, Fisher Price, Intel, Unilever, Pininfarina.
In the meantime I’ve continued to follow my deep passion for authoring and directing shorts and web series, with which I won several international film festival.
In 2011 I’ve founded Storm and Light Pictures with award winning actress/screenwriter Inga J Sempel, we worked together on the feature film project The Crow's Legacy with American producer Matt Dean. We shot some scenes in 4 days with a Red camera and edited to promote it.
In 2015 I've directed Florenza an American romantic feature film.
I'm available to evaluate narrative projects worldwide.

Unique traits: I grew up playing with my imagination, using Super 8 format and then moving on up to digital files. I combine scale models with live action shots, green back and stop motion animation in a practical background. As a passionate for VFX – both on set and CGI – my work with stunts and VFX artists never finishes when the set lights go down; it continues with the meticulous coordination and supervision of the post production process.
