About Maureen

Ever since childhood I have been fascinated with expression through various methods of creative arts.

From my early days of working on the school newspaper, to hanging out at my step-dad's local radio station; to working on the TV show Petrocelli, to writing and producing a 10 year, 16 page monthly newsletter for racing legend Jeff Gordon ~ my canvas is painted through creative arts.

When I was young I had a dream of writing a children’s book series. Taking kids young and old alike to a magical place that would stir their imagination. For without imagination, creation could not exist.

I have always been a dreamer and loved playing outdoors with my toy horses, taking us through the Land of Imagination. I never wanted to grow up and spent a lot of time as a child in the Land of Imagination. It was my go to place, there was so much magic there. You could walk with Unicorns and fairies flew around you. I was amazed at the wonderful things I could create and see in that land.

I love horses, and the vision of my award winning series Moonlight and Molly® was inspired shortly after I adopted a wild Mustang and named her Moonlight. She became my best friend, we connected at a spiritual level and I knew she came to me from the Land of Imagination.

My mom was an artist and always encouraged me to chase my dreams. My dream, through books and animation, is to bring a little joy into the world, and inspire kids of all ages to never forget their childlike spirit.

If you sent a letter to Jeff Gordon in the 1990's, chances are that it was processed by the JGNFC. From the outset, they catered not just to the fans of Jeff Gordon, but all race fans. By doing so, they created the most popular fan connection in all of racing during the 1990's. Jeff Gordon On A Chance will take you inside the JGNFC and gives insight into the Jeff Gordon fan. Also, Maureen shares some humorous "fanatics" that she and Russ went through as not only JGNFC founders but as simple fans.
