Run the North is a documentary about the Polar Bear Marathon, an extreme adventure marathon which takes place at the end of November in the sub-zero temperatures of Churchill, Manitoba, Canada. Churchill is known as the 'Polar Bear Capital of the World', making the bears another aspect that adds to the intrigue of running in this isolated, frozen wilderness landscape. The Polar Bear Marathon is run by Albert and Edna Martens, and is a way for them to raise awareness and support for their work in remote First Nations communities, where they have an incredible positive impact.
