The statue was unveiled in North London in honour of Mary Wollstonecraft who died 223 years ago. She was an author and women’s rights activist in the area of Stoke Newington. A campaign group raised funds and commissioned well known artist and sculptor Maggi Hambling to create the structure. But to everyone’s dismay it turned out to show a tiny naked woman. A crowd gathered at the site where some spoke to ynuk.tv about their disappointment.
