About the meetup

an indie filmmaker living in the greater New Jersey/New York city area I am always on the look out for an opportunity to work and collaborate with other likeminded artist who share my passions. I enjoy surrounding myself with people who are “about the work” and committed to their craft.

Filmmaking is a profession that demands the collaboration of people with different skills, backgrounds, and experiences.

the Garden State Indie Film Collective, was founded to bring New Jersey’s based artist, actors, and storytellers together to collaborate on projects, and share knowhow.

We have partnered with the Golden Door International Film Festival (GDIFF) to hold the first Garden State IFC meetup at a Festival.

About the group

The Garden State Indie Film Collective (Garden State IFC for short) is made of actors, artist, filmmakers, and indie film enthusiast from New Jersey who share a passion for independent storytelling. We are a community of people working in film, video, TV, and theater who share resources, knowledge, and who collaborate on individual and group projects written, produced, cast in and around the Garden State.

We gather at meetups, table reads, film festivals, workshops, production meetings, networking events to discuss films, develop projects, pitch ideas, screen rough cuts, share knowledge and meet other actors, artist, filmmakers working in the New Jersey indie film scene. We celebrate each others success, learn from our peers, and build skills in the art and craft we all come to know and love. Those who participate have the opportunity to expand their network, received feedback on their projects, share resources, and collaborate.
