Hello. I'm interested in exploring a co-op style production company with a group of committed members to help each other produce finished products. I've mounted stage plays recently and so wished I'd been able to film them but union rules don't allow for that. I'm thinking I get my hands dirty for your projects, you do the same for mine. Five members, five projects. DIRECTOR, WRITER, PRODUCER, CAMERAPERSON, LIGHTING/SOUND. We meet, read/pitch work see if there's interest, commit, set up small fund that will cut costs for everyone, set up schedule and shoot. I've seen this done with students many times with micro budgets and a great deal of enthusiasm. My film would require one set and four actors. If I could find similar project needs we could shoot back to back and save a lot of time and money. Maybe even share actors? Get the idea? I worked in ensemble theater where we mounted several plays with same cast. Why not in film? Also, in film school I often acted, wrote and directed with the same group of people. With today's film equipment the possibilities are endless. If you have a script you're dying to make and want to explore this idea with me, let me know. I'm Los Angeles based so I'm seeking local projects. This is all preliminary exchange of ideas and open to anything that works. Ideally, a Spring schedule would be realistic.
