Please join us on Thursday March 22nd from 7-9pm at the McCowan Memorial Library in Pitman, NJ. From 7:00-7:30pm, you can network with your fellow screenwriters and filmmakers. Then at 7:30pm, the craft lecture will begin on From Outline to Scenes. After you have finished your outline, how do you decide which scenes really need to be in your film, and equally as important, which ones don't? While your blueprint may change, most writers benefit from fleshing out their outline and creating a scene list. There are many advantages to having a solid story structure in place, especially later at the rewrite stage. Join us and learn how to take your script from outline to scenes and the benefits of doing so. After the lecture there will be time for Q&A.

Please join us on Friday March 16th for the evening showing (Time TBA) of Tomb Raider at the AMC Deptford 8 in Deptford, NJ. After the movie, we will discuss the film over food and drinks at a nearby restaurant. Please note, this theater has reserved seating and often sells out in advance. Please try to purchase your tickets online as soon as possible. This is a great opportunity to network and get to know your fellow writers and filmmakers in a fun and casual setting. Additionally, it is common practice among industry pros to see movies in the theater on opening weekends to gauge the audience's reaction. After the movie we will spend time evaluating the storyline and the movie's overall success, or lack there of. Everyone is welcome, including member's guests. Look for us in the lobby after the movie ends.
Our monthly meetup is on the 14th (Wednesday) of this month. We will be, hopefully, saying bye to the winter climate in favor of springlike temps. Time change will be coming up also. The Academy Awards are taking place and most of us will be attending "viewing parties". How many of us have been involved in the filming and/or production of Academy, Golden Globe, Emmy, or any other "notable" productions? You may be surprised how many local actors or crew members have participated in some of the top ranked awarded films. Lots of new films being produced all over. Hopefully, we will be connected to a large film production in this area soon. You never know.
