A native Utahn, spent I my youth creating stories with paper dolls, my sandbox village full of grasshoppers, and commercials for my Ninja Turtles. Early on I found my passion for storytelling, writing my own brand of fiction about my favorite bands and tv shows. My dream to be a screenwriter was solidified after Star Wars Episode I was released and I was able to see behind the scenes as creator George Lucas spoke with such fervor about the worlds, characters, and stories he’d created. It clicked. Screenwriter; filmmaker, I had a name for my passion and now, direction.
I quickly transferred high schools to take a filmmaking class. I made my first claymation short and dramatic short. Both shorts were entered into the Murray Film Festival where I won best comedy for the claymation short, and best screenwriting for the dramatic short. From there it was off to the races. Next up was the Academy of Art University, then the University of Utah. Script after script came pouring out, the end of ideas never in sight.
Most recently my TV pilot, Apocalypse, placed in the Top Ten of the Writer’s Store Industry Insider TV Writing Contest and in the Semi-Finals of ScreenCraft’s Pilot Launch competition. I continue to hone my craft, spending my time reading and writing screenplays and taking classes at the Academy of Film Writing, all while hard at work on a web series.
