Michael Oakes is a professional writer, actor, director, and an Environmental Planner. He graduated with honors from Stuyvesant H.S. in N.Y., earned his B.S. in Zoology and Psychology, and M.S. in Conservation Biology at the University of Wisconsin. He studied acting with A.C.T., Shakespeare & Co., Anne Bogart, etc. He is an Equity actor, garnering rave reviews in roles including Stanley Kowalski, Petruchio, Scrooge, and Oberon. In 1994 Mr. Oakes founded Live Oakes Educational Theater, combining rigorous research with acting and writing expertise to produce "Enlightening Edu-tainment." His mission is to tell stories from the past that can make a difference for the future. He tours his 13 award-winning shows nationally, often on grants from the NEA.
Mr. Oakes studied screenwriting for six years with Syd Field, Robert McKee, Chis Vogler, Linda Seger, Screenwriting U Pro Series, etc. Is Scirpt DA VINCI’S DREAMS placed in five major contests was a winner in Screenwriters Network's Hollywood Outreach Program, garnering two Recommends, and ratings of Exceptional and Excellent. "The kind of film you see around Oscar season." Mr. Oakes has a 1 hour series pilot script, “The Call of the Wild: The Jack London Story.” His favorite role is Daddy to his 8 year old daughter.
