About Michelle

Michelle C. Yu is an artist establishing her presence in multiple creative fields. Born in China and raised in New Jersey, her creative work draws from her multi-cultural upbringing and life experiences. Recognized in more than 50 competitions and festivals, her work has been featured at the Tribeca Film Festival, Los Angeles CineFest, and Hollywood Women's Film Festival. She is a 2017-2018 Tribeca Film Fellow, a National YoungArts Merit Winner in Cinematic Arts, a Scholastic Art & Writing awardee, and the Grand Prize Winner of the Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey Music Competition.

Michelle is currently pursuing a B.A. in Film and Media Studies with a concentration in Sociology at Columbia University. This past summer, she interned at Downtown Community Television, doing post-production on various projects, including the HBO series “Axios.” She has also interned for Showtime's “Inside the NFL” and with Academy-Award® nominated director Christine Choy.
