A Pilot

David Dinning Does anyone know if a script for a series has to come in at 60 pages or can it be shorter, say 50 pages?

Richard Allis

If it's a script for network tv, you have to account for commercials. They will take up at least 12 minutes and probably more now like maybe 16 minutes. I'm assuming you're writing some kind of drama and not a sit-com.

David Dinning

Yeah, it's at 47 pages, I though it had to be 60 pages for a pilot, they sometimes go a little longer. Looks like I'm good at 47. Thank you

Emma J Steele

60-65 pages is fairly standard. If you're speccing a series, try and get hold of a script from the series and see what they come in at. If it's your own pilot, given what you're going to need to do in it, you'll need all of those 60 pages.

thank you all

Shawn Speake

That's a good look, Lisa. Thanks!
