Filmmaking / Directing : A Seamstress as well as a Writer by Frances Emerson

A Seamstress as well as a Writer

I just wanted to stop by and say, I am always interested in the costumes. I have been a seamstress here for several summer stock performances on our local stages. I have always loved making costumes. My best effort was for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Everyone loved my Elvis jumpsuit I made. I had originally made it for a Halloween party, but I let the actor playing the Pharaoh use it for the production. I was ecstatic over that. I was so disappointed when the woman designer, I can't think of her name right off hand, hired for Spielberg's Lincoln, did not win the Oscar that year. I thought the gowns she created for Sally Field were far superior to the ones designed for Anna Karenina. This year, I was so happy when Grand Budapest Hotel won. Elegant costuming and right on the mark. If I weren't trying to break into the biz as a screenwriter, I would have loved to have been a costume designer for the movies. Thanks for letting me post here.
