So I've been looking for a writing partner for a while now. I have tons of great ideas for movies and I've completed several scripts but I think to really take my craft to the next level I could use someone with similar tastes to bounce ideas off of and help hone the dialogue. I have several friends who are interested in screenwriting, but unfortunately when we actually try to collaborate on anything they end up losing interest and not responding to my emails for weeks. So does anyone have any tips for finding a writing partner that isn't a slacker? This would be an equal partnership thing, not just someone to read and give feedback. Thanks!

Thanks for the advice, Joey. I know people work at different paces depending on what's going on in their lives (I can procrastinate sometimes, too). I'm looking for another writer that can at least spend a few hours each week collaborating but I know it takes time to build a reliable working relationship.
It sounds like you and I are very alike. I'm very passionate about my ideas but I could use other people's inputs to really craft the story. if you're up to it, message me and we could bounce ideas off of each other.
Realize that a writing partner is both a personal and business relationship. You both must be on the same page with the same sensibilities and direction. Read my article about this on my blog: https://scriptcat.wordpress.com/2011/08/04/considering-a-screenwriting-p...
Thanks, that was a great article!
