Pro female voice talent and world-voices member

I vowed to make a living as an actor, and proud to say I have, plus raised a family while doing it. Acting careers morph, and there are lots of areas. Mainly I now work as a voice talent/narrator ( e.g. NBC, Tantor, Swanson, Priceline) but love to pepper it with theatre, MC, radio, and on camera. Proud Board member of world voice association ("WoVO"), promoting respect and fair business standards for voice talents. Nice to meet you!

Hi Randye, are you a member of ACX? I have found two wonderful narrators there who have jumped on board my boat, not quite a ship just yet, but maybe someday. You should throw out some of your examples there and see if you get a bite. VLZBOOKS

Nice to meet you too. Congratulations on your success.

So cool to hear that you're rolling with the punches and the times and let your career take you in different directions. That's awesome! Great to see you here on Stage 32, Randye!

Randye Kaye

Hi and thanks! Vicki, I generally only work for a fee, not royalty share, so for now am kept really busy by publishers like Tantor. But thanks for the tip! ACX can be a great resource, indeed.

Oooh, never heard of World Voice Association, I will have to check it out. I've been doing voicework for a very long time, mostly in Texas, but I've been repped by DPN here in LA for the past couple of years. I just got new voice demos, and would love any advice on who to get them out to, especially for industrial narrations. I speak Spanish fluently and bilingual narrations were a big part of my business back in Texas. thanks for your post!

Hi there Randye! I've been interested in branching into voicework for years, but I've never known where to begin. May I ask how you got started?

Randye Kaye

Hi Jackie, best advice (I get asked this a lot, so I blogged about it!) is summed up here :) https://randyekayevo.wordpress.com/2014/04/23/parade-magazine-and-the-my... As for me, I have been doing voice work as part of my acting career for decades! I started locally, when pregnant with my son, and branched out each year, adjusting for life priorities and the way the VO world has changed (e.g. need for home/personal studios) hope the post helps!
